The Architecture of AI Agents

What makes an AI agent different from a workflow? In this talk, I explore the building blocks of agentic systems and the design choices behind them.

We walk through five workflow patterns—prompt chaining, routing, parallelization, orchestrator-workers, and evaluator-optimizer—before looking at agent loops and protocols including MCP and OKF. The talk uses diagrams and Python examples to make the concepts concrete.
